“The electric, ‘original’ version, as they say, emerged in the summer of ’87 during a marathon of album recordings — this one being the last. That explains the frankly poor sound quality. By the time this was recorded, I was completely and mercilessly burned out — setting things up, mixing, moving speakers, turning knobs — all of it drove me insane. That inevitably led to the excessively nasty sound, although that unfortunate shortcoming is perhaps partly redeemed by the extremely inspired performance.

This is a collection of early tracks (1983–1986), originally meant for the first two albums, which at that time weren’t finished and sadly only existed in bootleg, joke-like versions...”
